Heard a rumour the other day that somewhere down south there is a trial of HATO white caps! Any truth in this?

Not sure if they're BiB snowdrop stylee or existing HA baseball type but changed from navy to reflect the summer sun (!) and assist with hi-vis image etc etc.

I saw one first hand the other day at our outstation. Not sure where it's appeared from but its a proper white police style hat with a metal HA badge on the front and black and yellow chequered band around it. I'll get a picture of it and post it.

Are they waterproof because mine will be big enough to keep me dry

Think if this did happen mine would be "accidentally" blown off by a sudden gust of wind down the motorway never to be seen again wouldnt put it past the HA to try n make us look even more ridiculous than ever!

For this very reason motorway bib do not wear hats. It blows off. Likely in our work place. First instinct is to chase after it, right into 44 tons of LGV death.

Ive seen a copper have his hat blown off at an RTC v v v funny...wld have been even better if the car it went out in front of had run it over...noticed the copper soon went n put it back in his car

Oh FFS! I already look like Benny off Crossroads in my beanie hat...

I look a tit in my HA Baseball cap, and i can just about pull off looking vaguely menacing in my (non-issue but useful) boonie hat

But a white cap? I have neither the facial structure or amount of hair on my head, (Grade 0 all over before some smart ar$e says I'm going bald ), to look cool in this. Mine may be destined for an unfortunate accedent with one of the kittens of doom.

I am so far removed from Archies vision of what a traffic officer should look like that I doubt any of my colleagues would even notice if i turned up in jeans and vest as along as i had the hi-vis on.

Im 99.9999999% sure Id look like a twat in it...can just about get away with the baseball cap...the beanie is way too huge and turns into a balaclava...without the ability to see out of it...and forget tryin to wear anythin non HA issue round my neck of the woods...surprisingly they havent yet tried to enforce HA issue underware...tho watch this space

I think the white cap is a send up.

However... I wear loads of my own stuff because the HA stuff is not that great. Anyone else get crotch rot from the long-johns?
