Is there any merit to the rumour of Mouchel Parkman having bid for and subsequently won the 'Response Driver' training course?

Not heaard a thing about that but if it comes that will put the cat amongst the pigeons. Completion of a IAM coarse for all may be better.

Agree with GM. I think would give us a far better standing with Joe Public if the HA got together with the IAM, and got us all through their course.

Going to what you ask Vic, I heard the same thing, but J17 was doing a quote for it. Time will tell if it either a) happens and b) who does it.

I'm not going to hold my breath that the HA will do it any time soon, so looking at something else myself, for my own benefit.

IF Mouchel Parkman bid for a won the contract for a driver response training course, there would have been a contract notification go out. Looking on the HA contracts page, no such thing exists - unless it is being done under existing contractual arrangements and to my knowledge none exist with MP anymore since TLC took over.

Also, MouchelParkman no longer exit. Mouchel split from Parkman some time ago are they are two separate entities iirc.

Wouldn't the RoSPA scheme be easier to implement? AFAIK, they already have regular re-testing in place which I'm pretty certain would make it better long term value for us.

KeoKeo, we ARE a response service, just not an Emergency Service yet.

Response isn't about breaking speed limits or even about driving very quickly, it's about safely getting to your destination as quickly as is safe to do so.

Road Craft, Forwards Obs, Safety Bubbles, Continuious Obs, Forward Planning and Anticipation are just some of the elements involved.

Qinetic now hold the over arching training support contract I believe, so anything further would be arranged through them. Obviously, Jn 17 are already sub-contractors working in support of Qinetic so I'm they would be among those considered.

Keokeo, I'm sure you would agree that some TOs driving abilities are not really up to scratch, so surely anything that gives us an extra skillset would be useful and would help everyone, not just the wannabes. I would also hope that you would agree that the driving package new recruits receive on their foundation course is not really adequate.

I have to say that the rumour of the imminent arrival of blue lights, scrolling arrows, sirens, flashing headlights, response training et al have been around ever since we started. However some like the scrolling arrows look like they may actually come to fruition so watch this space .................
