Hi all, my name is Amy Walton, I lived on site because my dad was head trainer in the dolphinarium (Steve Walton). I had the best days of my life in that park, as I was around 9 or 10 years old. Me and the other kids on the park would realy drive the workers mad (sorry guys), we were very cheecky kids, and the worst part of it was if you lived on the park it ment you perents were head of there departments which was very hard on all our perents because we would run wild around the park.

I remeber in the mansion lived Terry Nutkins, I would play with his kids, and remember living on my round about just behind the ARK, on my street was Ginger and I played with his sun steven beedel, then there was Peter White head, my brother hung around with his kid Chris, I never, because he didnt like girls, there was also Steve Richards who I would play with his son Phillip. There was also George rodgers and his wife Cindy, I hung out with there kids Emma and Vicky, wauw I know others but I dont want to send you all to sleep. If any one worked in the kids farm when it was at the top of the park, do you remember a little girl always hanging around wantting to help out, or in the education center at the bottom of the park. It was me, sorry to have botherd you!!!!

Well after travelling and working all around europe I am now a dolphin trainer in Antibes France marinland I followed in my dads foot steps, I have the pleasure of often meeting up with David Taylor when he comes to do check ups on the animals. Im am now 24 and not a day goes by when i dont think about that Park and how lucky i was as to grow up in such a place!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello Ocean.
I doubt you'll remember me but i too lived at the park. I lived in the flats at the top of the yard with Claire Beastall and "Zippy" and John Foster and a bunch of others, remember them? My name is Colin, "Clubby" as i was much better known. I was deputy head of carnivores and worked on 3 gate with "Gunner". Your dad might remember me. I met David Lindsey not long ago. He came to a Sealion tag being held at West Midland Safari Park last year. Thats where i am now as Senior Deputy Warden. Which sealife park are you working now? Do you remember your baby rabbits going missing one by one?? I'll tell you about that another day!! Anyway. Bet you got loads of stories from the park eh. Good to see you on the site.

Hay Tiger Hold on a sec, i would love to know the rabbit story hahahah!!! I have lots of stories!! Do you ever rememebr a lade called Chris think his nick name was Spam or somthing , I remeber him walking around our roundabout with dead rabbits atached to his waste, and i just cried because i lost my rabbits and i thought he killed them, I think he used to work with the birds of pray. I am working in Marinland France antibes, im training sealions and dolphins!! That sealion tag sounds intresting what sthat all about.

Well. What can i say about the rabbits. All i can let on is that my cat was pretty well fed for a few days!!! Sorry Ocean. I had no idea where he was getting them from at the time but he would jump in through the window with a little rabbit kitten. Every night for a few days. It wasn't until about a week later i learn'd he was nicking them from your garden. I didn't have the heart to tell anyone my cat did it. Sorry dude!! The truth is out after all these years. Hope you can forgive me, and my cat. His name was "Gizmo" and he has passed away himself now, well fed!! Thanks. !?!

Its a load off my mind i can tell you. Thanks for being so forgiving, hehe. So it wasn't Spam after all eh! Although i do remember him keeping a dead Muntjac in a rabbit cage for his ferrets and birds to feed on!!! strange lad!!!!!!!!!!

Am i correct in thinking Spam never actually liked that nick name? Im sure one of the workers told me and my brother to call him that, and we did!! All we ever got off him were insults with that name . My brother even fell in the lake at the bottom of the park once when it was frozen over and Spam just laughed. Then again im sure we really did drive the man crazy, we did everyone!!

To be honest with you i cant remember. We all called him that and it didn't seem to bother him as i recall. We all had nicknames. Mine was "Clubby" as you know and Gunner used to call your dad "Big Fish" because it used to wind him up. I think he hated it really. Even Gunner had a nickname for his nickname which was "Gonzo". Happy days. You have no idea what it means to reminisc like this. Its bringing back such happy memories. Cheers Ocean.

I do have lots of stories, and its great for me too to be told all this stuff. I am at the moment working in the same park as Bruse Walton he has no relation to mem but he too worked in windsor with the dolphins, I will tell him about the site, im sure he will be very intrested. ciao for now.

Hi, i have read all of your memories and sounds like you all had good ones but can anyone or of course your families remember the actual building of it. My dad Ed Dobbin was there at the very beginning and wondered if anyone had any info on that far back?

Not sure if you knew my mum, my dad was steve walton he was head trainer for a while until the park closed, but you said you left the park in 1980 ish, but i was there i think in 1988 or even 1989 so you might have already left, im not sure. My mum was called Cathy, would love to know if you still think its her you knew. Terry who, and were was it you worked just to know if you dont mind. Bit late on the reply i know sorry but only just saw it.
