well when I was 13 there was THIS !!!!
at no 108 in the 1970s countdown is that mega hit from White Plains that I just love
whenever I hear that played ....... I'm just 13 again and take it from me, that's not a pretty sight
hey - did you see that 1970s countdown chart?? that IS soooo amazing, tons of top melody on there - no doubt about it
so - think back - you were 13 ........ AND ?? |

Age 13....hmm a time for pimples, noticing boys...well maybe just one or two....listening to music and at 13 I acquired my first record player as they were called then. A rickety little thing with no definitely no such thing as stereo suround, pure MONO
Well The Osmonds were still cool, especially Donny. My taste in music then though falkor at 13 wasn't really chart based at all. I was big fan of Elvis Presley then, and he was sadly by now nearing the end of his too brief life. Belonged to both his and The Osmonds fan clubs Should I really be admitting this on here..ha...why not.
I've NEVER heard of White Plains though....er where was I? Certainly recall such 70's bands such as Slade, Sweet, Abba etc....but nooooo White Plains just by past me by I'm afraid. _________________ Animals I trust...everyone else has to earn it! |

Hi all. When i was 13 it was 1977 and all i can remember was it was the Queen's Silver Jubilee and we moved house from Plymouth to Somerset. What the music was then i have no idea except i was just getting into Jean Michel-Jarre and Mike Oldfield. Both of whome i am still enjoying today. I had a new racing bike and spent most of my time racing around the country on it. How about CB, anyone remember that, the AM days as its refered to nowadays. I still have one, and a sidebander. I can still listen to the Amarican truckers on it. You lot must remember that, or is it just a sad me!! _________________ "Clubby" |

hehe CB was a crazy era, my uncle had an entire ROOM set aside for his CB and if you were caught on the street with a CB it was ripped out of the vehicle and you were arrested for Customs and Excise to deal with, hehe I remember CB alright - CONVOY was a SUPERB record that summed it up totally - 1976 I believe CONVOY hit the airwaves, great great number
hey Breezy I had a record player like that TOO!! (Felt really lucky to have it as well ) yep - them were the days alright!!
who's next? |

Only just noticed this topic, first album I ever bought was Aladdin Sane by DB. Don't think I ever fully recovered, and thats 34 years worth now!
My father tried to burn it, thought I was heading the gay way, lol, and my first single, I think, was by chris montez. memory is not what it was.
Today, 800+ CD's, including 30+ Bowie, and shedloads of vinyl, I still love my music, but mostly 70's.
Love all life and be crazy!
